Elie Skiff update - 25 Oct 2017

 20171006 093622 1

A request for your assistance!

Thanks to the grant from the Big Lottery Fund, the order for a new coastal rowing skiff has been placed, with an expected delivery now late October

In order to fully fund the project, we’re still looking to raise additional funding to help cover the costs of some of the accessories required to operate the skiff. Items such as lifejackets, radios, easy-use launching trolley, and different sized oars to accommodate for the physique diversity of rowers, are the main pieces we still need to purchase

One potential funding source where we would like to ask for your assistance is the “The Aviva Community Fund”. This offers the chance to gain funding for an important cause in local communities. It’s open the general public, not only Aviva customers, employees, insurance brokers or financial advisers (whether associated with Aviva or not).  Marilyn Whitehead, EESC Commodore, has already made the necessary application to Aviva, and now the need is to get enough votes from friends, family and supporters in our community for our project could be entered into the Finals, where a judging panel will award the funds. More background details are available at https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/user/aboutthecompetition

Our request is that you click on the link below, and follow the instructions to give your votes to our Skiff project. Additionally, if you could forward this link on to family and friends, hopefully we can raise our vote level high enough to put us in the running for a funding grant from Aviva.
